David Tennant has admitted that he has no idea what’s going to happen to his Broadchurch character.
The Scottish actor, who plays DI Alec Hardy in the highly-acclaimed ITV drama, says that he does not know what creator Chris Chibnall has planned for the show’s second season.
He told the Metro newspaper: "We don't know where the characters are going. We don't know the story he is telling. Some people say they are in it, I'm not sure that they do, though."
Tennant added that his character "was dying of a heart attack so I don't know how able Alec Hardy will be to do any more crime-fighting; we will have to see."
Far more certain is that the former Doctor Who star will play a role in the US remake of Broadchurch, which will be called Gracepoint.
He will play the chief detective in the investigation - renamed Emmett Carver - while Breaking Bad star Anna Gunn has landed Olivia Colman's role of DI Ellie Miller.
