Art Garfunkel’s website has announced that the singer has recovered from a vocal cord problem and he will play nine shows in the USA in 2014.
The 72-year-old entertainer enjoyed his first hit with Paul Simon in 1957 with Hey, Schoolgirl, when the New York singers were billed as Tom and Jerry.
The song made the number 49 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 pop singles chart. Thereby would progress an illustrious union, and duo would make their mark on the world with hit songs like Scarborough Fair, The Boxer, Bridge Over Troubled Waters (also a best-selling album) and The Sound Of Silence.
A reunion tour with Paul Simon in January 2010 drew to an abrupt end when when Garfunkel was diagnosed with a debilitating condition known as vocal-chord paresis.
In the last year-and-a-half months, the singer has performed a few one-off shows to test his vocal chords, and, content with what he hears, he is now raring to go.
