Coldplay broke cover to play a surprise show in a pub in Somerset last night along with the likes of Chas 'n' Dave and Conor Maynard.
The Ring O' Bells in the village of Compton Martin (pop: 508) played host to the mega band, reports Western Daily Press.
A setlist posted on fansite Coldplaying reads as follows: Yellow, Clocks, The Scientist, God Put A Smile Upon My Face, Fix You, Viva La Vida, Charlie Brown, Paradise, Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall, and Christmas Lights.
The pub is partly owned by Miles Leonard, the chairman of the band's record company, Parlophone who lives in the area. It has previously played host to secret shows by Kylie Minogue and Gabrielle Aplin.
However, not everyone was happy with the annual muso love-in. Western Daily Press quotes one local as saying: "It's just annoying, it's a local pub and we're the ones that keep it going all year round. They do this once a year and we are never invited. So many locals come here and they feel so let down - without us the pub wouldn't still be running anyway.
"It's just a bit gutting that we're stood out in the rain and we can't even go in. It feels like our little local pub is becoming too commercial. I saw Chris Martin leaving earlier - which made my night. He left before 9pm though, which I thought was quite surprising."
Coldplay next play live at Kids Company And Coldplay Present: Under1roof at Eventim Apollo, Hammersmith, London on Thursday (December 19), alongside Rizzle Kicks, Dynamo, Lily Allen and David Brent of The Office and his band Foregone Conclusion.
