X Factor's Tamera: 'It was a good time to go'

Tamera Foster lost out to Luke Friend for a place in the X Factor semi-finals last night after Gary Barlow took the judges' vote to deadlock.

In the first deadlock of the series, the public decided that it was time for Foster to be sent home.

After battling it out in the sing-off with Friend, 16-year-old Tamera's rendition of Christina Aguilera's The Voice Within wasn't enough to save her.

However speaking to The Xtra Factor after the main show, Foster said she was "excited" about life after the competition.

She said: "I feel like it was a good time to go out. I've got this far - now I can go out, go gigging, and we've got the tour soon. So I'm really excited about the future."

She added that she will be taking Gary's advice and will spend some time finding out what kind of artist she wants to be. She said: "I think that would be a good idea, because I am young so I need to have that time to try and develop myself and try and find myself in the music industry."
