Scarlett Johansson and Matthew McConaughey have been honoured at the Rome Film Festival.

Johansson picked up the Best Actress gong for Spike Jonze's Her, while McConaughey won the Best actor award for his role in Dallas Buyers Club.

There has been some controversy following Johansson's win, as she provides a voice-over for Her, but does not appear in the film.

Joaquin Phoenix stars in Her as Theodore Twombly, a writer undergoing a difficult divorce who falls in love with a computer program. Johansson plays Samantha, the voice behind the operating system.

In the true-life story Dallas Buyers Club, McConaughey portrays Ron Woodroof, who began a drug smuggling operation after being diagnosed with HIV.
