The original Sugababes are among the acts being lined-up to ring in 2014 at a major outdoor musical event in Dublin.

Now called MKS – after the first-name initials of members Mutya, Keisha and Siobhan – the trio will front this year's New Year's Eve celebrations in the capital. They’ll be joined by the likes of Cavan retro rockers The Strypes.

Two-tone favourites Madness and Monaghan musician Ryan Sheridan are also taking part in the Countdown concert on December 31.

Nominated as one of last year’s top five New Year's Eve attractions in the world by Lonely Planet, organiser Three NYE Dublin is planning another spectacular bash to celebrate the dawn of 2014.

Last year's event, The Gathering, attracted an attendance of more than 10,000, with around 1.3 million people tuning in to the live broadcast on RTÉ One.
