Tommy Vaughan Lawlor says he felt the "intensity" of Love/Hate's popularity

Love/Hate star Tom Vaughan Lawlor has said his wife, actress Claire Cox, stopped him "imploding" during the show’s phenomenal success.

Vaughan Lawlor who plays crime boss Nidge says he felt the "intensity" of the show’s popularity. “I know I couldn’t have handled the intensity surrounding the show if Claire hadn’t been there. I would have imploded, dealing with the attention.”

Speaking to Irish Tatler Man magazine, the 35-year-old actor described Love/Hate as magical because defining moments in his life have all happened while he’s been working on the series.

“That’s part of the magic of the show – huge moments in my life have run side-by-side with it – getting engaged, getting married, having our son.”

The full interview with Tom Vaughan Lawlor is in Irish Tatler Man, out now.
