Grey’s Anatomy and Private Practice creator Shonda Rhimes has revealed that she knows how and when her latest hit show Scandal will end.
The soapy political drama - currently airing on UK channel More4 - follows the trials and tribulations of Olivia Pope (Kerry Washington), who starts her own crisis management firm after leaving the White House, where she worked as a press aide.
Speaking about Scandal on US radio programme Morning Edition, Rhimes said: "[The show] is very political. The political landscape on the outside, in the real world, will change - possibly before Scandal is over.
"But I feel like there is a finite amount of Scandal to be told. So I know what the end of Scandal will be, and I feel really good about that. And I can see where the end point is. And I don't think I'm going to change that . . . I know how long I think it will be. But we'll see."
This year Scandal was nominated for multiple Primetime Emmy Awards. Washington was nominated for an Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series prize, and Dan Bucatinsky won for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Drama Series.
