The stars of the new Nelson Mandela film have been invited to a special screening at the White House this week by US President Barack Obama.
Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom is set to be screened this Thursday with stars Idris Elba and Naomie Harris set to attend alongside Nelson Mandela’s daughters Zindzi and Zenani Mandela, says The Hollywood Reporter.
Obama visited Robben Island jail, where Mandela was imprisoned for 27 years, in June during a visit to South Africa.
The film from The Weinstein Company premiered in Johannesburg on Sunday with Mandela’s former wife, Winnie, in attendance.
Harvey Weinstein said "Knowing what a strong relationship President Obama has with President Mandela, it's an honor for this film to be shown at the White House."
