The Wire star Idris Elba has been hospitalised after suffering an asthma attack.
The 41-year-old actor missed a planned news conference in Johannesburg for his Nelson Mandela biopic, after falling ill, according to Sky News.
However, the film's producer Anant Singh said that he is hopeful the actor will feel better in time for the movie's premiere tonight. (November 3).
Singh said at the news conference: "Idris is in hospital after an asthma attack on the plane last night."
The biopic tells the real-life story of the anti-apartheid leader's life journey from childhood to becoming the first democratically-elected president of South Africa.
Mandela: Long Walk To Freedom is due for release in January.
