Wicked is set to make its Irish premiere at the Bord Gáis Energy Theatre next month.
The musical phenomenon comes to Dublin for an 8-week run from Wednesday November 27, through Christmas until Saturday January 18 2014.
Executive Producer Michael McCabe said: "We are all thrilled to be bringing Wicked to Dublin and look forward to celebrating our Irish premiere. We're enormously proud of this new production, which has successfully combined all the spectacle of the London show with an intimacy that has made the storytelling more captivating than ever.
"With Gregory Maguire, author of the novel on which the musical is based, having previously lived in Dublin, it has a very special resonance for us all to now come full circle.”
Wicked tells the story of an unlikely but profound friendship between two girls who first meet as sorcery students. Their extraordinary adventures in Oz will ultimately see them fulfill their destinies as Glinda The Good and the Wicked Witch of the West.
