Donal Skehan returns with Kitchen Hero tonight

Tonight, Donal Shekan returns with his latest series - Kitchen Hero: Homecooked, also kicking off this evening is the new Sky Living Dracula series and Hector O'hEochagain is back on the TV tonight for the much anticipated show that sees him swap places with well known Northern Ireland personality Stephen Nolan.

Kitchen Hero: HomeCooked, 7pm, RTÉ One **New Series

It’s Halloween so a little early to mention the ‘C’ word and long before the queues begin forming outside Sheridans’ Cheesemongers at Christmas, Donal Skehan visits their headquarters in Meath to look in on their fourth Irish food festival. He will take his place amongst the judges in a bread competition and we get to look on. He’ll also prepare a tasty sounding kedgeree, a fresh lime and coconut chicken and a yummy looking lemon meringue pie. In these final seven programmes in his HomeCooked roadshow he has everything on offer from mouth-watering savoury dishes to sweets to tempt even the most disciplined amongst us.

Dracula, 9pm, Sky Living **New Series

Whether you’re a Christopher Lee convert or a follower of Gary Oldman’s bloodsucking style, tonight’s perfectly timed launch of the new Sky Living version starring our own Jonathan Rhys Meyers is worth a view. Set in Victorian era London this ten-episode series sees Dracula arrive in London, posing as an American entrepreneur promising to bring modern science to English society. Produced by the makers of Downton Abbey, the post watershed show is not for the fainthearted, in terms of throat and bodice ripping scenes. Dracula has only one thing on his mind: To enact his revenge on the people who terrorised his life centuries before. However an encounter with a woman who appears to be the reincarnation of his wife may stop him in his tracks.

Hector Break for the Border, 10.15pm, RTÉ One

Red daddy as he likes to be known, Hector O'hEochagain is back on the TV tonight for the much anticipated show that sees him swap places with well known Northern Ireland personality Stephen Nolan. Since the Good Friday agreement was signed 15 years ago how well have we become acquainted with our neighbours? How many of us can say that we’ve even been to visit? Well the RTÉ 2fm presenter and the BBC Northern Ireland broadcaster will leave the comfort of home to see how the other half live for the week and they’ll share their insights with us tonight. Regardless of the night in question, it’ll hopefully be more funny than scary!
