Dustin Hoffman has been cast in the indie film Boychoir.
The actor will take on the lead role in the movie, which also stars Kathy Bates and Alfred Molina.
Boychoir follows the story of a troubled and angry 11-year-old boy named Stet whose complicated relationship with his Choir Master leads him to discover his love of music.
According to Deadline, Hoffman will play Choir Master Carvelle, while a young actor has yet to be cast to play Stet.
Bates will play the school's headmistress while Molina will play Hoffman's colleague.
Francois Girard (The Red Violin) will direct from a screenplay by Source Code writer Ben Ripley.
A release date for the indie drama has not yet been scheduled.
Hoffman recently made his directorial debut with Quartet and wrapped production on Jon Favreau’s Chef.
