Daniel Radcliffe has admitted that landing the role of Harry Potter may have made him appear cocky to his peers.

The Kill Your Darlings star shot to fame at the age of 11 after being cast as the young wizard and told Attitude magazine that he may have come across as cocky to the other kids in school who bullied him because of his fame.

“Yeah I guess, and also because I was 14 and ... not cocky, but I was definitely aware I'd spent more time around adults than anyone else in school had.

''If somebody picked on me, I'd say something back to them and I think that probably came across as cocky. So I didn't do myself any favours, but I'm not just going to sit there and take it.''
