A funeral was organised by fans for the Breaking Bad character Walter White following the end of the series to raise money for charity.

The service for White, played by Bryan Cranston, attracted 200 people to Albuquerque, New Mexico where the TV show was set.

Admission to the event raised $17,000 for the city’s Healthcare for the Homeless charity organisation which also helps people with drug addictions.

The funeral procession was lead by a hearse and the show’s infamous mobile home. Fans convened at a real grave site and the show’s set director Michael Flowers gave a eulogy. A reception was held afterwards in a local restaurant.

Many people living in Albuquerque have objected to the memorial as they predict it will draw tourists to the graveyard. A petition has been launched to have the grave removed.
