Saoirse Ronan has said that "everyone on the planet" has auditioned for a part in the upcoming Star Wars: Episode VII.
Speaking to Digital Spy, the 19-year-old actress also discussed rumours linking her to the upcoming Avengers sequel Age of Ultron as well as the latest in the continuing Star Wars franchise.
"I’m not doing The Avengers,” she insists. “And I think everyone on the planet has gone for Star Wars. So I don’t have the part or anything like that, but everyone’s auditioned for it.”
The New York-born Irish actress also spoke about working with Ryan Gosling on his directorial debut, How to Catch a Monster.
The pair almost worked together on The Lovely Bones, but Gosling departed the project just before filming began.
“When we rehearsed for Lovely Bones, our rehearsal was basically us just messing about with him and his dog, George," Ronan recalls.
"So I don’t really remember what it was like to work with him. But I would love to work with him as an actor.
“I’d imagine that his sensibility is quite similar. He’s a very sensitive guy; he’s very emotional . . . and really, really calm. And had an incredible amount of respect for all the actors that were on-set.”
