Equinox, the acclaimed jazz act which includes Dubliner Johnny Daly in its line-up (double bass) and who have won praise from Riverdance man Bill Whelan, launch their Irish tour this October.

The quintet which Whelan has called "entertaining and accessible, cool and lucid, exciting and virtuosic", play venues in Dublin, Galway and Limerick as part of the extensive tour.

Dubliner Johnny Daly, who is a founding member of the Netherlands-based band, won a Bank of Ireland Millennium Scholarship to study at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague from 2002 – 2007. Daly also spent several years performing, touring and recording with Meixcan duo Rodrigo Y Gabriella.

Three of his fellow band members hail from Holland, while the ensemble's American guitarist Dan Nicholas moved to Holland in 2001. The band's new album Face the Music combines original tunes with innovative, fresh readings of lesser-known classics.

Equinox’s Irish tour begins on October 19th at the Town Hall Theatre, Galway and includes dates on November 1st at Millennium Theatre (LIT), Limerick and The Sugar Club, Dublin, on November 3rd.
