Alan Sugar has lost his bid to recover legal fees from former Apprentice winner Stella English.

English lost her constructive dismissal case against Sugar earlier this year. Sugar was seeking £50,000 compensation for legal costs and damages after he claimed she had lied about the job he had given her which she claimed was a sham.

English had told a tribunal in April that she was forced out of the job but these claims were dismissed.

Yesterday the Stratford Employment Tribunal voted in English’s favour in the matter of costs with her lawyer Henry Hendron saying, "My client is over the moon the employment tribunal have found in her favour and have dismissed the respondent's application for substantive costs against her.

"They have gone further to state that she did not bring the claim against Lord Sugar's company motivated by malice or by bad intentions but she genuinely believed that she had a good case as advised by her then lawyers.

"Ms English is now keen to put this saga behind her."
