Morrissey has reportedly cancelled the release of his autobiography.

The book was scheduled to be released this week but a statement on his fan website told of a last minute disagreement with his publisher.

The statement read, "Although Morrissey's autobiography was set to be available throughout the UK on September 16th, a last-minute content disagreement between Penguin Books and Morrissey has caused the venture to collapse. No review copies were printed and Morrissey is now in search of a new publisher."

Morrissey is yet to confirm or deny the reports and Digital Spy reported that a Penguin Books spokeswoman said there is currently no statement to be made from them.

The musician signed the book deal with Penguin in 2011.
