Des Cahill and Gráinne Seoige host Up for the Match at 9.35pm on RTÉ One, as Clare and Cork prepare to do battle. Strictly Come Dancing returns, 6.50pm BBC One, and Daniel O'Donnell is special guest in a For One Night Only repeat, 11.10pm RTÉ One.
Up for the Match
9.35pm RTÉ One
Des Cahill and Gráinne Seoige host a night of music, craic and good old-fashioned rivalry as Cork face Clare on the eve of the All-Ireland Hurling Final. Joined by GAA legends past and present plus a few surprise guests, the show looks back at the highs and lows of the championship and looks forward to what will be a hard-fought final. Clare are through to the All-Ireland Hurling Final for the first time since 2002, so they are hungry men.
Strictly Come Dancing
6.50pm BBC One
Strictly Come Dancing opens its ballroom doors for 2013, as the fleet-of-foot celebs face Bruno Tonioli, Craig Revel Horwood and head judge Len Goodman. Also on the judging panel is ballerina Darcey Bussell, who returns for her second year on the show. Stars Rod Stewart and Jessie J will also perform their latest singles, and the whole extravaganza is introduced by Bruce Forsyth and Tess Daly. We figure Vanessa Feltz stands a good chance...
For One Night Only
11.10pm RTÉ One
Repeat edition with Daniel O'Donnell, folks - tell your granny or mother-in-law or sit back and enjoy it yourself, ideally with a cup of tea. Gaybo's encounter with the man from Kincasslagh goes right back to the beginning of his career, when he got down to business, selling albums to Knock pilgrims. He talks about his love of Donegal, and waxes lyrical about the love and contentment he has found in his marriage to Majella.
