Homeland star Damian Lewis has expressed his delight over rapper Jay Z name-checking him in a new song.
The 42-year-old actor was thrilled when the 99 Problems hitmaker mentioned Lewis in F.U.T.W., a track from his recent album Magna Carta... Holy Grail, in which he says, "Feel like a stranger in my own land/ Got me feeling like Brody in Homeland".
Speaking to Esquire magazine, Lewis, who plays prisoner of war-turned-Congressman Nicholas Brody in the popular drama, said: "It's one of the coolest things that's ever happened to me. My natural habitat is quite a long way from, you know, a gangster rapper. So the fact I've somehow straddled popular culture to find myself name-checked (is great)."
Jay Z has been busy recently wrapping up his Legends of the Summer tour with Justin Timberlake, curating last weekend's Made In America festival and rehearsing for his upcoming European Magna Carta tour.
Season 3 of Homeland returns to the US on September 29.
