Ed Sheeran has said he doesn't think he'll ever been seen as a sex symbol.

The singer spoke to People at the MTV Video Music Awards and said he is confused by the female attention fame has brought him.

He said, "I find the whole concept of women screaming at me so odd. It's very flattering but I don't think I will ever consider myself a sex symbol."

He continued, "If you speak to most women, they want to take me home and mother me than take me to bed. I just have that impression."
