One Directions Harry Styles has responded to Taylor Swift's comment about him in her VMA acceptance speech.

When the singer took to the stage to accept her award for Best Female Video at Sunday's MTV Video Music Awards she said, "I also want to thank the person who inspired this song, he knows exactly who he is, because now I've got one of these."

The camera then shot to a close up of Styles looking awkward while bandmates Louis Tomlinson and Niall Horan seemed to find it quite funny.

Speaking to Extra at the This Is Us New York premiere, Styles said, "It's alright, she likes a joke. I like a joke as much as the next guy, so it's all good."

Styles was pictured at an after party with Swift, Ed Sheeran and DJ Spiky Phil. He commented on this saying, "Yeah, I went for a drink with Ed and some friends. It was good."

Sheeran is known to be good friends with One Direction and wrote their hit single Little Things. He is also currently on tour with Taylor Swift.
