Ellen Pompeo: still Greysie after all these years

Great news for fans of Grey’s Anatomy - ABC president Paul Lee has said that there is no end in sight for the medical drama.

The long-running Shonda Rhimes’ show is currently prepping for its tenth season and Lee has told the US media that he wants it to continue "for many, many years to come".

According to Collider he said: "[Series creator] Shonda [Rhimes] is an extraordinary creative force. It is the number one drama on television . . . and that's an extraordinary accomplishment, after so many years."

Lee added that he is still "very proud" of Grey's, which still centres around its stars Ellen Pompeo and Patrick Dempsey.

Grey's Anatomy spin-off Private Practice was cancelled by ABC in October 2012 after six seasons, while Rhimes is also working on another hit, Scandal starring Kerry Washington, and developing a new legal drama for ABC.

The tenth season of Grey's Anatomy begins in September in the US and will follow on RTÉ Two.
