Nirvana's In Utero for 20th anniversary release

In Utero for re-release

Nirvana’s third and final album In Utero is set for a 20th anniversary re-issue this September and will feature exceedingly rare demos and the complete “Live and Loud” concert from December 1993.

The follow-up to the epochal Nevermind, In Utero found Kurt Cobain, Krist Novoselic and Dave Grohl at their most atonal and confrontational on songs that served as a blunt rejection of their whirlwind success.

Steve Albini produced following the gilded grunge of radio friendly unit shifter Nevermind and the album is seen as Nirvana returning to their more primal roots on confrontational songs like Serve The Servants, Heart-Shaped Box, and the more melodic but bittersweet finale All Apologies.

The 20th anniversary of this unforeseen swansong features 70 re-mastered, remixed, rare, unreleased and live recordings on formats ranging from a 3-CD/1-DVD Super Deluxe Edition to a standard digital/CD re-master of the original album.

Included are never-before-heard demos, B-sides, compilation tracks, and live material featuring the final touring line-up of Cobain, Novoselic, Grohl, and Pat Smear, including the long-awaited release of the complete "Live and Loud" show from Seattle's Pier 48 on December 13, 1993.
