Morricone's baton halts rain at IMMA performance

Following a screening of Cinema Paradiso, the 84-year-old composer led the 100-strong Orchestra Roma Sinfonietta and the Dublin Gospel Choir through a 90-minute set which included music from The Untouchables, The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, Once Upon A Time in the West and The Mission.

Uncannily, the rain stopped as soon as Morricone walked on stage and rasied his baton to start last night's rapturously-received show.

However, some of the Sunday audience members have commented online about the sound of a generator during the show and also what they considered to be the short length of the set considering the ticket price.
