Jurassic Park 4 director Colin Trevorrow has revealed details about his approach to the blockbuster sequel.

The 36-year-old screenwriter, who is working on the movie co-writer Derek Connolly and producer Steven Spielberg, hinted that Jurassic Park 4 won't be a complete reboot of the series.

Speaking to TV and film website Schmoes Know, Trevorrow said: "We don't want to create a new scoop here, but we definitely want to honour what came before us."

On teaming-up with Spielberg, he said: "[He] has such an incredible filmic knowledge and just understands the language of the story in a way that for us is very refreshing.

"It's not like getting notes from a studio executive, it's really just trying to crack this and make it the best it can be."

When asked on the pressure of making another Jurassic Park movie, Trevorrow said: "We are very aware of how much a certain generation especially cares about this movie and we talk about it all the time and really the conversation is - it's not about us, it's not about our careers, it's how do we make something that can stand with the first one."

Jurassic Park 4 will open in cinemas in 2015.
