Former Shelbourne FC, Nottingham Forest, and Bristol City footballer John Burns has released a new song with a promo video featuring a line-up of English footballers including Stuart Pearce, Des Walker, Teddy Sheringham and Les Ferdinand.

The single, Jennifer Jones, is lifted from Veritas, the debut album from Burns’ band The Establishment which is due on August 2nd.

Dun Laoghaire-born Burns, who plays guitar, formed the Nottingham-based band in 2006 after retiring from football. He moved to Nottingham aged 16 to become a professional football player and spent 10 years with Nottingham Forest, Bristol City and Shelbourne FC.

The Establishment have toured with Status Quo, Ocean Colour Scene, and Cast. Dublin himself is also percussionist.

The footie connections don't end there - ex-Premiership and England footballer Dion Dublin, who himself plays percussion, manages Burns and the boys.

The Establishment play Whelans, Dublin on Wednesday, July 31st.
