Helena Bonham Carter has been cast as the fairy godmother in Disney's live-action Cinderella.
Kenneth Branagh is directing the fantasy flick, which will also star Lily James in the title role and Cate Blanchett as the evil stepmother, The Hollywood Reporter reveals.
Richard Madden, which stars as Rob Stark in HBO's Game Of Thrones, will play the prince, while Sophie McShera (Downton Abbey) and Holliday Granger (The Borgias) are playing the stepsisters.
According to the website's report, the fairy godmother will play a larger role than in Disney's classic 1950 animation, with the character disguised as an old beggar who watches over Cinderella before revealing her true self.
The film is planned to begin production in London this autumn.
Bonham will next appear on the big screen in Disney's The Lone Ranger opposite Johnny Depp.
