RTÉ TEN's TV Picks of the Day

1 of 1 Dannii Minogue is back
Dannii Minogue is back

The end of the week is nigh and here are a couple of gems to get you up to speed and keep you entertained starting with a brand new series of Britain & Ireland's Next Top Model, the latest arts news in The Works and the latest from Junior Vets.

The Works, 11.10pm, RTÉ One
John Kelly et al have a busy programme ahead with a review of Richard Linklater's latest film Before Midnight which follows the lives of Jesse (Ethan Hawke) and Delphine (Julie Delpy).

Everyone's talking about the brand-new Irish urban horror, Citadel, from first time director Ciarán Foy and tonight he tells The Works Peter Murphy all about it.

Then Elaine Murphy tells the team all about her second play Shush, which has an all female cast. Kelly will also interview artist Patrick Scott about his new gold paintings and he will also talk to the artist, now in his 90s.

Britain & Ireland's Next Top Model, 8pm, Sky Living
Just as we were beginning to wonder where she'd gone, she's back - Dannii Minogue returns for the new season of Britain & Ireland's Next Top Model. Joining the Australian judge is The Body aka Elle Macpherson and representing the men on the judging panel is equally gorgeous model, Tyson Beckford.

Tonight's double episode marks the shows ninth run and the models-to-be are put to the test by strutting their stuff on the catwalk of a wedding show. The girls will be keeping their eyes on the prize - a modelling contract with Models 1 agency and a cover shoot with Company magazine, a New York shopping spree and beauty campaigns with Revlon and Tresemmé.

No wonder they're put through their paces.

Junior Vets, 7pm, RTÉ One
I've said it before and I'll say it again - this is a great and original idea for a show on Irish TV. Fascinating to see how vets learn how to practise the life-saving, furry-friendly medicine that they do and today more than ever their theory is put to the test as they head out on work experience.

These Final Year UCD students will be tested in pressurised situations in this behind-the-scenes show. If you, or the kids, are missing, The Zoo, then make sure you tune in at 7pm so introduce them to some new animals that are in dire need of a human hand.
