Tony O’Callaghan, best known for his role as Sergeant Boyden in The Bill, is joining EastEnders as a new love interest for Jean Slater.
It’s about time do-gooder Jean Slater has a man in her life, and we think EastEnders’ latest casting is the perfect fit.
Romance blossoms when, after months of trying Jean is finally given her own allotment where she goes for some peace and tranquillity, but her quiet place is soon tarnished when she meets Ollie Walters, a fellow gardening enthusiast.
After a rocky start the pair soon become close and we really hope Jean has found her happy ever after and this relationship is not just another disaster waiting to happen.
Speaking about his casting announcement Tony said: “I am very excited to be joining a show with as much prestige as EastEnders and I’m looking forward to portraying the nice side and humour of Ollie.”
