Aaron Taylor-Johnson is reportedly being eyed for the role of Quicksilver in the forthcoming Avengers sequel.
The Kick-Ass star is currently the frontrunner for the role in The Avengers 2, The Wrap reports.
Director Joss Whedon is introducing two new characters to the Marvel sequel, twins Quicksilver and the Scarlet Witch, whose father is Magento.
Marvel and Fox share rights to the Quicksilver character. Director Bryan Singer (X-Men: First Class, Jack the Giant Slayer) recently cast Evan Peters (American Horror Story) as Quicksilver in X-Men: Days of Future Past.
Marvel is currently negotiating with Robert Downey Jr to return to the Avengers franchise as Iron Man.
His fellow cast members Mark Ruffalo (The Hulk), Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Chris Evans (Captain America) and Jeremy Renner (Hawkeye) are all expected to return.
