Peaky Blinders - Coming to BBC Two in the Autumn

Peaky Blinders, the new BBC Two gangster drama starring Cillian Murphy, will premiere at the Edinburgh International Film Festival next month.

The first two episodes of the six-part series – due for transmission on BBC Two in the Autumn – will be shown at the Edinburgh International Film Festival on June 25.

Created by Steven Knight (Eastern Promises, Dirty Pretty Things), Peaky Blinders tells the story of Thomas Shelby (Murphy), leader of the 1920s Birmingham gang the Peaky Blinders, "named for their practise of sewing razor blades into the peaks of their caps".

The cast also includes Sam Neill, Helen McCrory, Paul Anderson, Charlie Creed-Miles, Iddo Goldberg, Annabelle Wallis, Joe Cole, Sophie Rundle, and poet Benjamin Zephaniah.
