Queen's guitar legend Brian May has said that The Voice UK is "vile" and that the BBC talent show is also dumb and dull.
Blogging on the personal section of his official website, May said that he wanted the TV show to die "a natural death very soon".
"Every time I catch a glimpse of young singers busting their guts trying to win somebody's attention, who is rudely sitting with their back to the singer . . . I feel sick," he said.
"It brings singing down to the level of a stupid obstacle course on It's A Knockout. This is not – NOT – what music is about."
He also claimed that the format was "poisonous to the growth of young performers".
Interestingly, May's comments come after his friend and musical collaborator Kerry Ellis failed to make it past the Blind Auditions on the first series of the show.
