Natalie Portman has been cast in Macbeth, reports say.
The actress is set to play Lady Macbeth opposite Michael Fassbender as the eponymous tragic hero, according to Screen Daily.
The new version of the Shakespeare play will be directed by Snowtown's Justin Kurzel and will see Fassbender reunite with Shame and Hunger producers Iain Canning and Emile Sherman.
Macbeth will feature Shakespeare's original linguistic stylings "a visceral approach to the story including significant battle scenes."
The script was written by Tood Louiso and Jacob Koskoff.
Portman and Fassbender recently wrapped production on Terrence Malick's latest untitled film about the Texas music scene.
The actors were formerly in line to appear in Jane Got a Gun before Fassbender departed the project due to scheduling issues.
Filming on Macbeth is set to begin later this year.
