Connolly - "I am delighted to receive this great honour from the Gaiety Theatre"

As his sold-out, five-night run at Dublin's Gaiety Theatre comes to a close, Billy Connolly has been immortalised with his handprints outside the legendary venue.

Connolly joins the handprints of Ronnie Drew, Rupert Everett, Brian Friel, John B Keane, Edna O'Brien, Milo O'Shea, Luciano Pavarotti, Maureen Potter and Vanessa Redgrave, among others, on the plaza outside the Gaiety Theatre.

"I am delighted to receive this great honour from the Gaiety Theatre," he said.

"It's always a great pleasure to perform at the Gaiety, and I would like to particularly thank all the fans, throughout the years, for making Ireland my second home."
