Sutherland - Wants to bring Jack Bauer to cinemas

The makers of '24' are moving forward with plans to bring the thriller series to cinemas.

Variety reports that 'State of Play' and 'Flightplan' writer Billy Ray will pen the script after his pitch, which sees Jack Bauer (Kiefer Sutherland) going to Europe, met with approval from bosses at film studio and TV network Fox.

The trade daily reports that Sutherland, who also works as executive producer on the series, is eager to make a '24' film.

However, Variety says that planning is in the early stages and that if Fox decides not to order a ninth season of the show, and the series then goes to another network, the film would be delayed.
