Ed Sheeran plays surprise gig in Dublin

Ed Sheeran played a surprise gig in Dublin last night in Doyles pub on College Green.

Sheeran, who is due to perform in 2fm today and in HMV on Henry Street, made an appearance at the Ruby Sessions acoustic event, dubbing it one of the "best gigs of the year".

The 23-year-old from Suffolk played a two-hour set, during which he spent the last 30 minutes standing on a table.

The Ruby sessions is an acoustic gig held in aid of Simon Community and Oxfam every Tuesday in Doyles on D'Olier Street and previous performers have included Paulo Nutini, Mumford & Sons, Kodaline, James Blunt, and Rodrigo y Gabriela.
