Jacob apologises for his impetuous kiss, but Sonya is left awkward and feeling that she should tell Toadie what happened. Jacob begs her not to, but when Callum senses something going on between them, Sonya decides to be upfront.
Meanwhile, it's election day and Karl encounters a strong swell of support, which emboldens him to quietly confront Paul during a photo op. He relays Marty's offer and Paul is suddenly gripped by the feeling that everything is falling apart - a feeling that only gets worse when he receives news that Lassiter's has missed out on a major tender.
Elsewhere, Terese confronts Paul at his victory party, telling him that unless he meets her demands, she is going to counter-sue him for defamation over the video. With no other option, Paul offers a generous severance cheque and the concession that the Willises can stay in their house until they find somewhere else to live, if Terese agrees not to sue. Terese is over the moon, in the position to do anything she wants.
