Ben Wheatley and Steve Oram
Saturday 01 Dec 2012
The Sightseers director and star discuss the black comedy with Harry Guerin.
Needing some light relief after directing Kill List, Ben Wheatley has made a comedy - but it's of the black-as-tar variety. If Sightseers is a date movie, you need to know your other half's sense of humour very well.
Written by stars Alice Lowe and Steve Oram, it tells the story of Tina and Chris, misfit lovers on a road trip involving co-dependency issues, repression, two-for-one vouchers, racy knitting and getting things off your chest.
That great aphorism 'It's funny how they all meet' plays a big part in the plot and you'll never talk to strangers on holiday in quite the same way again.
