Raw
Monday 30 January 2012It was all about the awkward moments, long silences and flirtatious banter on the fourth episode of this series of Raw, this week.
As previously mentioned, I am a huge fan of Philip's character in Raw, but this week I got more than I could handle of the trainee chef. It looked like poor Maeve and Kate didn't know where to look either, as Philip pranced about Jojo's house in his boxers (oh dear!).
Jojo's life continued to spiral out of control and Maeve felt it was best to call an urgent family meeting. I couldn't help but empathise with all of the characters involved in this storyline. It was understandable that Jojo's mum was concerned about her wellbeing, but I can also see why Jojo felt vulnerable and victimised, while Shane was left in a pickle of a situation.
As Jojo began to become more complacent in work, Shane couldn't help but feel guilty over asking his sister to leave his house. Kate's true colours began to show as she took full advantage of the Philip/Jojo situation, making a holy show of the sous chef in the kitchen. Luckily Jojo was well able to give back as good as she got!
Selena's character became more interesting this week as her bitchy and conniving streak was brought to the fore. I can see how Geoff is blinded by her charm, he needs to wake up and smell the coffee. I am devastated that Pavel's message never got passed on. I really do hope that homewrecker Selena doesn't get in the way of their relationship!
The Ed and Fiona plot was finally explained this week, and it was better than expected. It was about time that someone was real with Fiona, and between Ed and Dan, I think she may get the point - yes she uses work as an excuse far too much (ouch). Ed, I bet you regret not staying in Australia now!
I was surprised when Shane almost went in for the kill with his college friend, but the Kate kissing Chris scenario was a long time coming. Emma made a nice little addition to this episode stirring up a bit of trouble, but the tax inspector plot with Barbara was a complete and utter waste of time.
I can't believe that Dan came so close to telling Fiona why he is home, and then backed out. Do you reckon that it is illness-related?
Hopefully next week will bring some more hints, or even the answer!
