A shoestring album with more than its share of riches

What could The Dying Seconds do with a really decent budget? That's a question that comes through the mists on Glimmerers, a shoestring album with more than its share of riches.

Pilgrims in the land of the sad song will find plenty of rest-stops here. Indeed, it may be hard to move on from one to the next.

This feels like a painstakingly assembled sound that draws energy from the electronic, the ambient, the orchestral and the choral, with the cult record credentials becoming more apparent - and word of mouth-deserving - on each listen.

As for the best place to inspect them, the answer's in the lyrics: "all wrapped up by the fireside".
