Electric Picnic 2011

Day 3 started with rain. Lots of rain. But it has developed into a sunny, slightly breezy afternoon and early evening. The embers, however, are still kindling at the front of main stage from the night before as Arcade Fire were, well, on fire!

Arcade Fire - The homecoming

It was the homecoming we're all waiting for and they didn't disappoint. Aided by some superb stage sound, a capacity crowd enjoyed a packed set and encore of all the songs you'd expect from Funeral through to The Suburbs. With only material from Neon Bible being relatively sparce. 2005 eat your heart out?! We'll leave that to those who were at both.

There were other acts playing Saturday though, Public Enemy for instance. Flavour Flav got up and rocked on drums while Chuck D quite literally busted some rhymes. And for those in wait for some late night indie, The Walkmen played to a small but fiercely loyal crowd on the Cosby Stage at 1am. It was another successful EP outing for the New Yorkers.
