Graveyard - Hisingen Blues
Wednesday 15 June 2011Label: Nuclear Blast
Year: 2011
Duration: 43 minutes
Good news for those seeking Sixties and Seventies-infused thrills: these Swedes really rock it from the crypts.
While Graveyard are on one of the biggest metal labels - and that fact and their name may sadly dull the curiosity of some - 'Hisingen Blues' has the songs to pull in a very wide audience, and only the most confident of headliners would take its creators out as an opening act.
Along with attitude and aggression, the quartet show that they have as much talent for mellow as mayhem on the instrumental 'Longing' and big ballad 'The Siren'.
It's not often you hear a band these days and think they've got a great double album in them, but Graveyard prove here that they can take that jump, and hopefully they'll take it soon.
