Duration: 39:40 minutes

1 of 1

You've heard of plastic soul well here's plastic rock. Royseven hail from Ireland but are based in Germany and this second album has all the oomph and nought-to-60 in seven seconds of perfect Teutonic engineering. Not a bass note is left un-calibrated, not an-Edge like guitar part left un-tuned, or a drum head left un-tightened. Impressive but Royseven really knock their vorsprung durch technik into reverse gear by leaving out any actual human feeling. Paul Walsh's bombastic wail recalls the designer angst of Thirty Seconds to Mars and when he dials it down on the windswept The Big Blue it's a welcome respite. Royseven's second model may be roadworthy but it's a dull ride.
