Brian O'Driscoll and Amy Huberman may have received an invite to the most talked about wedding of the year however the couple may not be able to attend.

The pair were among 1,900 people to receive an invitation to the nuptials of Prince William and Kate Middleton but due to the Heineken Cup, they may have to decline.

The Leinster team will play Leicester in Aviva in the quarter-finals on 9 April, with the winner going on to play in the semi-finals which is on the same weekend as the wedding.

Yesterday O'Driscoll was quoted as saying: "It's quite an honour and a lovely surprise for us to have been even considered."

Today a spokesperson for Huberman told the Evening Herald: "They are very honoured to have been invited but obviously their attendance is dependent on the rugby schedule."

Speaking about what the 31-year-old actress might wear to the event if they do attend, Publicist Joanne Byrne added: "I was joking with her saying that if they do go; she'll have to be sure to wear an Irish designer.

"It's a huge honour, given that they're among 1,900 people to have been invited to Westminster."

The nuptials will take place on Friday 29 April in Westminster Abbey, London.
