The speed of The Script's elevation to Irish music royalty has been matched only by the charming amount of humility they've shown en route, and 'Science & Faith' proves that for all the tinsel and plaudits the trio haven't forgotten that everything comes back to one thing: a group of guys in a room coming up with good songs.

Difficult second album? Not a bit of it. Stronger musically and lyrically than their debut, this collection avoids the filler that blights so many pop records.

In the ironically-titled 'If You Ever Come Back' they have possibly the most moving and habit-forming song of their career so far and the mix of hope and heartache always includes a chorus that will even connect with the nosebleed seats in arenas.

They'll be looking up at them a lot more in the future.
