Cowell considers TV commitments
Tuesday 7 September 2010Cowell told The Mirror that he is focussed on the new American version of 'The X Factor' and he will seriously consider if it is worth bringing it back to ITV for another season. Cowell has been looking at the programme schedules and it has been suggested that he may push 'The X Factor' in the UK back to a November start to accommodate his taking part in the US version. However now the future of the show in the UK seems in question.
He said "Yes, 'X Factor' will have to move, and we have to decide whether we can make the show better. Do people want it back?
"Even though I have got some plans, I'm going wait a few more weeks before I make a final decision."
He is also considering the future of 'Britain's Got Talent' and has confirmed he will not take part in the next audition phase.
He said: "I have [an ITV contract] for this year and that is it. At the moment you are going to see me doing one show [next year], and not in England.
"There has got to be a mood here for these shows, and I have always been very conscious of that. You can't force anything. It has got to be fun. The minute it stops becoming fun, bye bye."
