Britain's Next Top Model

1 of 1 Elle - 'The Bod'
Elle - 'The Bod'

This week the six remaining girls met the Revlon clients that they would be working with if they won the competition. In the first beauty challenge of the season, the girls experimented with Revlon's 'Colour Burst' summer collection. Hugh O'Malley snapped away as the six attempted to strike their fiercest poses while "smiling with their eyes". However, it was clear that these wannabe models didn't live up to the standards of O'Malley's Cosmopolitan, Tatler and The Gloss A-list clientele.

The hard-to-please photographer wasted no time in shouting orders and informing Charlotte that she had a "weird mouth pout" and was too stiff. Even his very presence was enough to turn Amelia into a nervous wreck in front of the camera. She was convinced that he was going to say that she photographed like a transvestite.

The negative comments continued to flow as he had a rant to the panel of judges about how Tiffany was too editorial looking, that he wasn't blown away by Olivia and that Joy had no enthusiasm (ironic considering her name).

Following her place in the bottom two last week, Alisha really upped up her game. Despite the fact that she was hoping the challenge would involve not wearing make-up, she embraced the task and produced some beautiful photos.

As Alisha won the challenge she chose Tiffany and an ecstatic Olivia to join her at a cocktail making class in a swanky London nightclub. Back at the house a rather glum Charlotte revealed to Amelia and Joy that she was still feeling upset over Julian's weight comments. I was so proud of Charlotte when she said: "I don't want to be a size four, I am happy the way I am."

But Amelia's behaviour was absolutely disgusting. While in the diary room she, without any hesitation, said: "I think all the girls do feel that she has piled on the pounds and obviously Julian has noticed."

Just as I thought it couldn't get any worse, we unfortunately got a glimpse into the conversation that Alisha and her chums were having at the club, and needless to say they all looked so pathetic. Yet again the green-eyed monster reared its ugly head as Alisha had a good giggle about Charlotte's weight, before Olivia threw in: "Seriously should she not be a plus-size model?"

When Elle Macpherson popped into the house to pay a surprise visit almost every single one of the models crumbled, and it wasn't long until the waterworks were unleashed.

Tiffany was first to meet 'The Bod' and was completely overwhelmed. However, it seemed like Elle really struggled to connect with her or show any compassion towards the weeping contestant. Instead, she told Tiffany that she needs a haircut and to transform her look to become more edgy (just what every young impressionable girl wants to hear when they meet their idol, right?)

It must be said, though, that Olivia played the part of the 'victim' very well, disclosing to Elle that she feels like everyone thinks that she is the underdog in the competition, and that she now realises not to take criticism personally (yawn).

I was surprised to see that Joy was nervous. I would have thought that due to her laid back and cool approach in previous episodes that this type of situation would work to her advantage. Luckily, Elle's words of wisdom calmed her down when she said: "When you walk into the room people notice, and that's what being a top model is all about." (The meaning of life is finally uncovered).

It was all a bit too false and boring for my liking when Elle and Amelia wasted their conversation on showering each other with compliments. But I must say when Elle lowered her voice and said: "You should look in the mirror more"; it was difficult not to chuckle. If this conversation is anything to go by Amelia is definitely the judges' favourite.

The final challenge took place at the legendary Pinewood Studios, on a stunt set used for the Harry Potter and James Bond movies. And it wasn't long before the models fell from grace. Amelia gave herself a bloody nose and black eye as she jumped off the scaffolding. Olivia refused to jump at all; despite the six chances and opportunities she was given. However, unlike the other girls, Charlotte thoroughly enjoyed the challenge and had fun. After all the badmouthing about her, I was delighted that she won the challenge and will appear in the next 'Galaxy Bubble' campaign.

This week's elimination was extremely predictable. As Olivia was the only girl who refused to participate in the jumping task, it would have been a sham if she didn't leave. Tiffany "the girl who tries really hard" was placed in the bottom two with Olivia "the girl who has loads of potential but never uses it". As expected Olivia was booted out.

Tune in next week as the five remaining contestants become photographers, Elle makes yet another surprise visit and Terry O'Neill and his rugby chums try to pose alongside the girls. Not to be missed!
