Burton to direct 3D Addams Family film

According to entertainment website deadline.com, the Alice In Wonderland director will take inspiration from Charles Addams's original New Yorker drawings and not the '60s TV show or '90s movies with Raul Julia and Anjelica Huston.

Universal-housed Illumination Entertainment has picked up the rights to the cartoon and will produce for Burton, who is expected to put his own visual stamp on the characters of Gomez, Morticia, Uncle Fester and Lurch.
